Ask Me Cuz I'm Old - The first Question

Here is our first two questions,
"How did Jaime Sommers become bionic?
What was the best toy of the 70’s? (my vote is the Evil Kneivel stunt cycle)
sincerely,
A long time reader, first time posting"

Dear A.L.T.R.F.T.P.,
The Bionic woman a.k.a. Jaime Sommers was pretty cool. She became bionic after a skydiving accident. She was dating Col.Steve Austin, the Bionic Man, when the accident occurred. Her parachute tore and she hit the ground with such force that it shattered both of her legs, her right arm and damaged the right side of her skull so they had to give her a bionic ear..
The Bionic Man, doing what any person in love would do, went to his bosses and asked them to make her bionic as well. Although they only spent 4.5 million (glass ceiling was in effect) she was still pretty cool.
While Jaime was in a coma, they performed the surgery. When she came to and realized she was bionic, she was less than pleased at first. She soon came to accept her bionics and joined Steve for a few secret missions. Two of my favorite storylines were the Bigfoot and Fembot stories. The 70's rocked for creativity, if you don't believe me just look at the clothes people wore.

My favorite toy of the 70's has to be the Micronauts.
Although I did own pretty much all of the Evil Kneivel cycles, cars and vans, the wind up chargers and the cool bendy figures you could pose anyway you liked on or in the vehicles. Hands down the toys that brought me the most joy were the Micronauts.
With characters like Biotron, Microtron, The Pharoid, Space Glider, Time Traveler and the Evil Baron Karza, I couldn't get enough. My cousin and I played with these toys for hours. We invented adventures, secret missions, wars, rescues, and new sorts of things to do with them. Their parts(one of the main selling features) were interchangeable. Which lead to some cool combos of villains and good guys.
The vehicles all had darts or rockets that shot out from different spots or pieces you attached. You could set up figures and take turns knocking each other out. Some were motorized with tracks and you could remake the chariot scene from Spartacus.
I loved the Micronauts and had quite a few in a box in the garage. During the time I was away, my nieces found the box and did their very best to destroy and crush my childhood dreams. So I may have just a few scattered pieces here or there. Do not weep for me though. I still have my Prince Acroyear Micronaut and my imagination.
